Adobe GoLive 4.0

On May 17, 1999, Adobe Systems released the Adobe GoLive 4.0 WYSIWYG HTML editor, which was designed to allow users to create and manage websites using a visual interface, as well as providing advanced features for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.

Adobe purchased GoLive CyberStudio and other groundbreaking web publishing technologies from GoLive Systems, Inc. and renamed GoLive CyberStudio Adobe GoLive. For web developers, Adobe GoLive 4.0 provided a seamless, integrated environment and tools such as a QuickTime movie editor, WYSIWYG Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), web database and a layout view with a grid for pixel-level control. It also included support for Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP).
