Macromedia FreeHand 5.0

On January 1995 Macromedia published the Macromedia FreeHand 5.0 vector image illustration program. It was the first version of FreeHand under the control of Macromedia, and the last version to be produced by Altsys.

Macromedia FreeHand 5.0 introduced improved Bezier curve editing, improved text handling, and support multi-page documents. It found frequent application in the print design and illustration industry as well as in desktop publishing. FreeHand 5.0 was notable for being the first illustration and design software to combine both types of tools in one application, competing head-on with Adobe Illustrator.
